Help Ealing to leave a L£gacy

A Charity needs your help to make the borough a better place.

The Ealing and Brentford Consolidated Charity is founding a £1 million fund to provide grants to groups helping to inprove the area, but needs the public to meet one-third of the costs.

The charity, based in Tawny CLose, West Raling, has been chosen by the Governement to hand out grants of up to £5,000 each and has already been given more than £300,000.

To receive more money, it must match it through fundraising.
Sue Payne, managing the pound for pound campaign said “before we can get the extra money we have to show that people in easing care about the community. The grants can go to a wide range of organisations, such as charities or residents’ associations, for anything from equipment to set up a gardening club to running after-school activities for children.

If just one third of Ealing's population gave one pound we would reach our target for this year. It's a chance to create a legacy of Ealing which isn't going to come again.

Only small groups with a turnover of £30,000 a year or less can apply for the grants. The charity must raise about £120,000 by March and the same amount the next year to get the full funding from the government.
Founded in the 16th century, the charity currently provides sheltered housing, allotments and other schemes to help those in need.
